My Favorite Store in Vermont

If you’ve never been to the Farm-Way store in Bradford, Vermont, you should go. They sell some of their projects online at their website, but it’s really worth the trip to the store.  Vermont Business Magazine recently covered the success of Farm-Way and focused on its size (six buildings on 17 acres, with a main store of 25,000 square feet). I go to Farm-Way mostly for horse related equipment, apparel and tack, but they have something for just about everyone. They sell outdoor apparel and casual apparel for men, women and children; fishing tackle; furniture; shoes and boots; feed for livestock; hunting gear; food; pet products; gifts; camping equipment; you name it. Owner Carol Metayer said it well in the Vermont Business Magazine article: “We describe ourselves as complete outfitters for man and beast with furniture and gifts.” (I can attest to the fact that they are complete outfitters for women, too). My friends and I take our horses to the Vershire Riding School once a year for a long weekend and we always make time for a trip to Farm-Way while we are there. Farm-Way is even going green, installing a solar energy system, according to the article. It’s a great Vermont business and I challenge anyone to leave there without buying something.
